I-Med case study
A picture perfect
I-Med Radiology is Australia’s largest medical imaging network, which covers over 200 clinics and 3000+ staff nationally. I-Med’s team consists of 2 main categories: Admin staff and Technical staff such as radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians and medical imaging specialists.
Comprehensive care. Uncompromising quality. These are the values that define I-Med Radiology’s commitment to patient care. It was our similar commitment to outstanding service and quality that led I-Med to select DTY as their preferred uniform supplier in 2015, following a successful tender process.
Before selecting DTY, I-Med often received complaints from staff regarding uniforms quality and fit, and poor customer service. I-Med’s uniforms were also looking outdated and were in need of a modern redesign.
As I-Med’s new partner we set out to make life much easier for their staff so they can focus on patient care instead of worrying about uniforms.
Our uniform solution
With such a large national network of clinics and staff the challenge was to create a comprehensive end-to-end uniform solution. To minimise I-Med’s financial risk, our solution had to find the right balance between fast order processing, speedy delivery and optimised stock levels.
As part of our Total Uniform Management solution we created a customised online platform for I-Med with individual employee login, location, staff and entitlement management. The portal also provides live reporting, giving I-Med the necessary tools to manage their uniform needs with very little effort. Employees are now able to conveniently place their orders and track progress online with no disruption to their work.
During the design process we presented concepts that were not only professional and modern looking but best suited to I-Med’s broad staff demographics and climatic conditions. We also selected premium quality and technologically advanced fabrics with enhanced performance, durability and all-day comfort for busy healthcare professionals.
The final collection included both long and short sleeve shirts and soft knit tops, knitwear and jackets for layering and mix & match pants, skirts & dress options to provide variety and choice for all staff members. The centrepiece of the range was our keyhole blouse, recreated in a soft peach colour inspired by I-Med’s logo. An orange belt provides a nice colour highlight that ties the collection together. The collection includes a variety of styles to suit all ages, shapes and sizes so every employee can find a flattering fit.
Over the first 2 years the collection evolved and grew to accommodate particular healthcare needs such as scrubs. We also introduced Milano knitwear as a better replacement to wool blend knitwear, and the City Short skort which is more practical for tech staff.
We now work with I-Med closely to continually evaluate and accommodate their needs and take proactive steps to keep the collection relevant and fresh, and I-Med’s employees comfortable and happy.

A great image
The I-Med uniform collection was launched in 2015, following a national roadshow to help staff choose their best size. Stylish, practical, comfortable and easy to put together, the collection presented a modern professional image and ticked all the boxes with management and staff.
We have developed a strong relationship with I-Med and they have recently decided to extend our contract by 4 years instead of the 2 years we suggested.
The last I-Med supplier review placed DTY in their top suppliers list. We scored 100% on being highly responsive to issues raised by I-Med and 94% on customer satisfaction and exceeding expectations. Next year we hope to do even better!
